Welcome to my site! I was born and raised in Midland, Texas. I was recognized as a natural artist during my childhood. My talent improved in my school years especially while I studied under Inez Parker in Midland. I went on to major in Art at Texas Tech University.  My first pet portrait was of my beloved Border Collie, Miss Penny Baker.

A tall, handsome Cowboy danced into my life. I left TTU with a "Mrs. Degree" instead of an Art Degree! I still have my Mrs. Degree in good standing thanks to my supportive and loving husband.

In 1975, we were living in Tulsa, OK. I was encouraged to create Pets-on-a-Chain, a pet portraiture business consisting of pet images on keyfobs. This business expanded to commissions for larger paintings of pets and commissions to render limited editions of Alaskan wildlife.

1980 came and I closed Pets-on-a-Chain to finish raising my family and travel with my husband. Actually took up flying a fully restored 1942 Taylorcraft Taildragger! My flying led to my involvement with the Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots for several years. I found myself painting compass roses on runways when not flying. I always find a reason to use a paintbrush!

I have been an animal lover all my life and Vizsla owner for thirty years and counting. My daughter asked me to dust off my artist’s brushes to paint a portrait of her wonder mutt, King, in 2002. In no time, I was back to being commissioned to paint pet portraits which resulted in the founding of Pets Brushed With Love.

My goal for each portrait is to accurately capture the unique personality of the individual pet through careful attention to the expression in each pet’s eyes and conformation detail. I look forward to meeting you and your pet through my paintbrushes!
